About

Dr. Shou-Yuan Fan (Dr. Angie)

L.Ac . MSTOM , DAcM

I offer a highly personalized, integrative approach to care that brings together modern biomedical science and Classical Chinese Medicine. My work is grounded in over two decades of experience spanning clinical research, hospital-based care, and private practice—allowing for a level of precision, depth, and discernment essential in treating complex conditions.

I earned both my Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) from the Pacific College of Health and Science, where I received extensive training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and integrative care.

In parallel, I have spent over a decade in advanced study of Classical Chinese Medicine under Jeffrey Yuen. This lineage-based training informs a more nuanced, comprehensive approach — one that looks beyond symptoms to understand the deeper patterns within the body, bridging traditional wisdom with modern clinical insight.

My goal is simple to: Help you feel better, function better, and restore balance in your body.

Background

A Foundation of Precision
& Deep Study

My foundation began in biomedical research at institutions including Yale School of Medicine and Bayer Pharmaceuticals, where I contributed to peer-reviewed publications in journals such as the Journal of Biological Chemistry and Brain Research, and worked in clinical trial design and monitoring across multiple therapeutic programs. This experience continues to inform a methodical, evidence-based approach to diagnosis and treatment.

I am a hospital-trained Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, with clinical experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and The Grace Center for Integrative Medicine at Englewood Hospital. In these settings, I worked alongside physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to support patients navigating complex medical conditions, including the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgical recovery. I have also participated in clinical trials evaluating acupuncture within integrative oncology care.

In my private practice, I treat a range of conditions including pain disorders, neurological and digestive concerns, and women's health. Each treatment is highly individualized, integrating acupuncture with complementary therapies such as cupping, moxibustion, electrical stimulation, and manual techniques when appropriate.

Refined, Rooted Care.
Individualized Treatment.
Restoring Balance from Within.

My approach is rooted in classical Chinese medical principles, with a focus on identifying and treating the underlying patterns that give rise to symptoms. Treatment is designed to restore coherence within the system — supporting sustainable, long-term change.
